Challenge: This homeowner had a 500 sq. foot basement that they wanted to finish and remodel to make more space for their kids and dog to play. They also wanted more space to do yoga and use their Peloton workout bike. Before contacting TBF, their basement was damp and uninviting, not very fit to have kids running around it. Making the space more comfortable and dry was very important for this homeowner. 

 

Solution: The solution TBF came up with was a clean, dry space that would be safe and inviting for their small children and pets. It is also perfect for the homeowner to workout and do yoga in. Not only is it practical, but it is stylish and comfortable. Outfit with a new linen ceiling and paintable walls with baseboards, the space looks great. TBF also worked with a quality local flooring company called FloorMe to meet the homeowners requests for Conetec Sanidry flooring and carpet on the stairs that works well with the rest of the basement. Now the residents can work and play all they want in their new finished basement without any moisture putting a damper on things!

Ryan F. found our Total Basement Finishing website with the hopes of remodeling his basement. He called shortly after visiting our website and we set up an appointment for John to go out and look at the space.

Ryan said that they had lived in the house for seven years, but their basement was completely unfinished. Their kids were getting old enough where they needed a place to play, but things in Ryan's house were a little bit cramped. They had tried to make due for a long time with this unfinished basement. They put down matting, "brightened" up the cement walls with posters, even put a couch down there, but in the end it still looked pretty dark and dismal- not really a place a kid would want to play in. This project called for a total basement remodel.

TBF finished the basement by installing Everlast Wall Panels (which are totally water and moisture-proof) and divided the large original space into two seperate rooms: a spare bedroom, and a game room for the kids. In the game room they also installed an Egress window to let in some natural light. The flooring used was a parquet tiling throughout the space. The finished space was beautiful and dry with lots of natural lighting and it will provide a space for the kids for years to come!
