Basement Tip: Breaking up the Space

Leaving your finished basement one giant room the size of your house can be overwhelming and confusing to your brain. On the contrary, you don’t want your basement to feel claustrophobic with too many rooms and tiny hallways. Chopping up your basement can make it feel like a rabbit warren!

The beauty of adding a partition wall in your basement is that it breaks up the space nicely and avoids these unwanted concepts. Half walls are a great way to create separate seating areas without entirely closing off the space.

Also, an interesting way to make a narrow space appear wider is to use different paint colors on different walls or adding faux wall paneling. For example, cool colors on opposing walls make it seem as if they are moving apart – pretty cool!
