Black Dog's estimate was $14000. The other estimate I received was $7000. I went with Blackdog because I have had them do other work for me and I knew they would do a great job. I don't know about the value but there was a peace of mind knowing that it would be done right.

It would be unfair to single out any individual... they all provided a high level of service.

Overall, it was a positive experience and I would hire Blackdog again and recommend them to a friend. The benefits resulting from the quality of the work and routinely demonstrated highly positive work ethic as well as the concern about making everything right for the homeowner far surpassed any individual "problems" that occured and, I would imagine, always come up during these types of projects. As this was our first major remodeling/construction experience, in general, I was very pleased with the process and outcome.

I have heard hundreds of "BAD NIGHTMARE" stories regarding contractors and remodel projects. Going into this project, I knew I had to choose the right company to do my remodel project and avoid those nightmare stories I've heard over and over again. Choosing Blackdog Builders was the right choice for us. They are very professional, delivered first class workmanship, and were very knowledgeable about their specific expertise. They didn't try to cut corners, and put alot of care and attention into this project. Blackdog definitely made this remodel a pleasant experience and have hired the best people in their fields. I would certainly use Blackdog Builders again and already have recommended them to family and friends.

Jody was the perfect lead carpenter for the job and ensured that the process was a positive one. His importance was magnified when there was a shakeup in the project manager but Jody made sure we were always well taken care of. My son Danny now wants to be a carpenter and work for Blackdog - just like Jody and Aaron.

The head carpenter (Jeff) was outstanding and should be recognized. I would definitely ask for Jeff in the future should we engage in another project. A special mention to John Nicholson who was quite good and someone I would want to work with again in the future. Michael Livingston did a good job, as well, managing the effort. So overall, I was exceptionally pleased with the key people on my project.

Bill the carpenter did a wonderful job with everything he touched. He understood that just finishing the job wasn't in eithers best interest but finishing the job right was.

John Campbell was incredible. I would trust him completely because he was there with my daughter all day. I just think he is an amazing person and also my designer Pat was amazing. She was very patient and kind with me.
