Bree is a single homeowner is Maynard MA. Bree is a diehard Harry Potter fan and wanted to design her basement to look like the Slytherin common rooms! Total Basement Finishing, a Blackdog Affiliate, gave Bree a beautifully designed Slytherin basement theme. TBF also included a buildout for the installation of a gas fireplace.  

We first met Kumar S. at a home show in Wilmington, MA where he was looking for a contractor to finish his basement. Total Basement Finishing immediately impressed him with our unique water resistant Basement System. Not long after, he set up an appointment with us. We sent Dave, one of our salesmen, out to look at the space. Kumar lived in a newly constructed home with a large, unfinished basement. He and his wife had lots of home improvements in mind, including a new kitchen and bath, but at the top of their list was a finished basement. They wanted a space for their two children with room leftover for the adults. The project would encompass 90% of the basement. Their new space included a family room, a study, a bathroom, and a gym area. We also roughed a space for a future kitchen which Kumar did on his own. In all of these spaces we installed Everlast Wall Panels as well as Total Basement Finishing Trims and Moldings. Kumar was very happy with the space and has referred us to several of his friends and coworkers!

A Westford, MA homeowner had a half finished basement. The family felt that the basement was usable... but only sort of. The space had musty carpets and no ceiling. The family wanted to spend time in finished rooms that weren't musty! Total Basement Finishing finished their basement beautifully. The musty carpet was replaced with one of our favorite products, the beautiful faux parquet floor. This vinyl tile looks just like real hardwood, but (unlike hardwood) it's safe for basements. 

A nice couple in Westford, Massachusetts, decided to finish their basement. To balance the budget and the desired functionality of this project, the homeowners decided to finish half of the space, leaving the remainder for storage.   Around the perimeter, we used our inorganic vinyl EverLast wall panel system in white. Their existing doors were relatively new, so we left these, replacing only the doorknobs. We finished their ceiling with our 2 X 2-foot linen ceiling tiles and replaced their outlets, light switches, and jacks. We also added recessed can lighting throughout the space. Finally, we added MillCreek flooring in natural oak, leaving them with a sizeable addition to the square footage of their home.

A couple in Acton, Massachusetts, are looking to finish part of their basement. They have a 14 X 12-foot space and an old window that badly needs replacing. Their walls, ceilings, and lighting also need to be changed. They considered both a painted ceiling and a hard ceiling for their project. The pricing for a painted ceiling is less than a hard ceiling and adds height to a space. However, it is not as clean of a look as a hard ceiling, making the choice dependent on what the homeowner is looking for. 

A homeowner in Acton, Massachusetts, is looking to finish his basement. He would essentially like to use his extensive basement to add usable space to his home. This would include a full bathroom, kitchenette, recreational room, and closets for storage. He found us in an online search and appreciated the pictures available on our website of some of our finished projects. After a discussion about the details of his project, we gave him a more in-depth look at our choice of materials.

Ping and Tong Ji still wanted to use their basement for storage and organization, but they didn't want to dread walking downstairs. Now, the space is perfect for them. The walls are wipe able, the floor is easy to clean, and everything is resistant to mold and mildew. We were pleased to take all the ugly out of Ping and Tong Ji's basement! 

We love homeowners who get creative! There are so many cookie cutter homes in the world, so we get excited when we speak to homeowners who want to customize their properties. Noelle, a Hudson NH homeowner, had an amazing idea. She wanted to relocate her home office into her home's walk-out basement. She also wanted to connect the master bedroom to her home office through a spiral staircase! Noelle will now have the quickest, and most glamorous, commute ever!

Living in a development home in Hudson, NH, a homeowner and her two had been using the space as a playroom. The homeowner was moving her elderly mother into the home, and needed to create an additional bedroom in the space.
