A Home With Sentimental Value
A couple owns a home in Topsfield that was built in the mid-fifties. This is one of the homeowner's childhood homes, and because of the sentimental value and potential room in the basement, he would like to finish the space instead of moving to a new home. We will be gutting and updating the basement, leaving the existing floor tiles in, and installing flooring overtop. There's an unfinished closet in the space, which we will also tear out to make part of the larger area.
They have an existing hot water wall heater, which we are incorporating into the new wall panel system. We are adding an oak handrail on the stairs, framed balusters, and carpeting over the top of the open treads.
The existing ceiling tiles are not up-to-date, so we are removing them and adding in a 5/8'' sheet, which will be finished and painted.
